In the last week of May 2015, the Regional Seminar "Northeast, 60 years later: Changes and Permanences" was held in the city of Natal, in Northeastern Brazil. The date alludes to the first Meeting of the Northeastern Bishops, which took place in 1956, in the city of Campina Grande, state of Paraíba. Among the initiatives that have emerged, one of the most important was the creation of the Working Group for the Development of the Northeast (GTDN), whose studies outlined the future Superintendence for the Development of the Northeast (Sudene).
